On the evening of February 8, the employment team at Ometz along with the Jewish Chamber of Commerce, hosted the ever popular networking event, Cocktails and Conversations at the Gelber Conference Centre. The special keynote speaker for this year’s event, was the Honourable Denis Coderre, Mayor of Montreal, who spoke about the recent economic mission he led to Israel and the West Bank.

Geared specifically towards employers, Cocktails and Conversation is a prime venue to network and set up interviews with up to 25 job-ready candidates interviewed and screened by the employment specialists at Ometz. Prospective job seekers are given 60 seconds to promote their skills and experience to a roomful of hiring companies. Held as a 5 à 7, Cocktails and Conversation is a great opportunity for local business community leaders to contribute significantly to the growth of the job market and talent retention in Montreal.

Since it first began almost twenty five years ago, Cocktails and Conversation has helped more than 1,400 candidates secure jobs in Montreal. It has also featured high-profile keynote speakers such as former Quebec Premier Lucien Bouchard, President of ALDO Group International Norman Jaskolka, digital marketing guru Mitch Joel, then MP and now Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Astral Radio Brand director, Mark Bergman.
