The following links provide information on where to obtain financing for your business:
SAJE Montréal Centre (Service d’aide aux jeunes entrepreneurs)
- Grants of up to $5,000 (for market/feasibility study), up to $6,000 per entrepreneur (maximum of 2 per business - for start-up), and up to $1,000 (for training)
- Available only to individuals aged 18-35
Fondation du maire
- Grants between $5,000 and $30,000
- Available only to individuals aged 18-35
Youth Employment Services (YES)
- Grants of $1,000
- Loans of up to $45,000
- Services provided in English only
- Available only to individuals aged 18-34
Support for Self-Employment (Ministère de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale)
- Supplement of $360/bi-weekly for up to 52 weeks
- Eligibility: must be receiving EI (employment insurance) and have no or limited income
- No age restrictions
Hebrew Free Loan Association of Montreal
- Loan of up to $15,000 for start-up or $8,500 for existing business (no interest)
- No age restrictions
Société d’Investissement Jeunesse (SIJ)
- Provides loan guarantee of up to $75,000 per entrepreneur and up to $225,000 per business
- Available only to individuals aged 18-35
Corporation de développement économique communautaire (CDEC Côte-des-Neiges/Notre-Dame-de-Grâce)
- Offers four different types of loans ranging from $1,000 to $150,000
- No age restrictions
Canada Small Business Financing Program
- Loans of up to $500,000
- Apply directly to a participating financial institution
- No age restrictions
Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC)
- Loan amounts varies in accordance with purpose of loan and type of business
- No age restrictions (however, Young Entrepreneur program available to individuals aged 19-35)
Centre for Small Business Financing
- Lists government grants and loans available to entrepreneurs, specific to industry
Fundica
- Lists all grants, loans, equity financing, and tax credits available to entrepreneurs, specific to industry
Investissement Québec
- Provides loans, loan guarantees, and quasi-equity financing, specific to industry
