Biographies of Presenters:
Katherine Korakakis
Katherine is passionate about youth development through entrepreneurship education. For 10 years, she was responsible for the development of entrepreneurial initiatives and projects under the hospices of the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge, a Youth Secretariat program of the government of Quebec. She has authored and co-authored many books on entrepreneurship education. She was instrumental in the development of the first National Entrepreneurship Day and was also the first country coordinator for Global Entrepreneurship Week Canada, a mandate she kept for 3 yrs. She currently is the Program Manager of Entrepreneurship for ProMontreal Entrepreneurs (PME), a VC fund that has been around for 16 yrs.
Marie-Michèle Giroux
Marie-Michèle is a start-up advisor at PME MTL and has over five years of experience in economic development in the Greater Montreal region. Through her training in fashion marketing and communications, she has expertise to help entrepreneurs in this sector and many other sectors who want to start a business. Her previous work experience allowed her to hone her skills to advise entrepreneurs in the five main areas of their business and guide them towards better practices.
Gérard Bernaténé
As an advisor in business, start-ups and ongoing performance for PME MTL since 2015, Gérard has over twenty years of experience helping businesses launch and grow. He also worked with social economy enterprises during his ten years at SAJE Montréal and two and a half years at the FDEM, which gave him solid practical experience in the city's economic development. His specific training in hospitality management is a definite added benefit for agri-food companies.
