The Community Assistance Program offers a range of responses to meet the basic needs of individuals and families in economic crisis.
Ometz is committed to providing confidential, dignified service. We work with you to develop an action plan addressing your financial needs. We focus on your strengths and help you develop the skills required to better manage your personal finances. We use our expertise in budgeting, fund administration, knowledge of government programs and systems, and advocacy to help you improve your financial situation. We offer emergency financial assistance, supportive counseling, help with budgeting as well as a range of other services.

JEWISH CAMPING EXPERIENCE
Each year, Ometz provides more than 600 children with a Jewish camping experience by helping to cover the cost of residential and day camps.
FOOD RESOURCES
Ometz has a number of initiatives in place, including access to the Good Food Box, a program that delivers locally grown low-cost fruits and vegetables, Eat Healthy groups, run by nutritionists for clients, and more.
Emergency food assistance is available by referral through our partner, MADA Community Center, 6700 Cote-des-Neiges, suite 218 or 514-342-4969.
BURIALS
We are committed to ensuring that all members of the Jewish community, regardless of income, are buried in a dignified way, according to Jewish law. The Baron de Hirsch Community Foundation owns cemetery plots at the Baron de Hirsch, Back River and Duvernay cemeteries, which are used by Ometz for this purpose. |
