Summer Contract-Community Service Worker (Employment Department)

Summer Contract - 12 weeks, 30 hours/week

Starting May 15, 2023

JOB SUMMARY

The Ometz Employment Department is seeking a Community Service Worker starting May 15, 2023. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with the Employment Services team. The team empowers jobseekers and provides them with the tools to maximize their potential in finding employment. The Community Service Worker’s tasks and responsibilities will include:

Working on marketing initiatives to promote the Employment Department services
Outreaching to Employers
Completing database projects
Collaborating with the Employment team on any needs that may arise

PREFERRED BACKGROUND:
Enrolled and/or a graduate in a post-secondary program in Communications, Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or similar. Interest in career orientation, employment services or human resources in a social service environment Fluently bilingual in English & French. We require English communication skills due to the majority of our clientele being from the English-speaking community.
THIS POSITION HAS NOT YET BEEN APPROVED BY CANADA SUMMER JOBS. The following are eligibility requirements dictated by the Canada Summer Jobs program. In order to apply for this position, you must: Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment, Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and, Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
