Summer Contract-Community Service Worker (Mental Health)

Summer Contract - 10 weeks, 35 hours/week

JOB SUMMARY

The Mental Health Services Team is seeking two Community Service Workers starting on June 12, 2023. The selected candidates will have the opportunity to work directly with the Mental Health Services Team, which provides community-based support services to adults living with mental health challenges.

    TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Preparing and facilitating two recreational groups per day
    • Providing one-on-one support and helping to co-create short term goals with assigned clients
    • Maintaining contact with clients serviced by the team
    • Writing progress notes after client meetings
    • Creating a report detailing the creation and implementation of the summer recreational programming
    PREFERRED BACKGROUND:
    • Enrolled and/or a graduate in a post-secondary program in Social Work, Special Care Counselling, Psychology, or similar.
    • Fluently bilingual in English & French. We require English communication skills due to the majority of our clientele being from the English-speaking community.

    This position requires the selected applicant to undergo a vulnerable sector police check.
