What to expect

The Director - Information Technology leads an IT Team that manages and oversees Ometz (including Entourfamille and L’Annexe); JEM Workshop IT systems, and internal databases in support of 150+ users. Using strong project management skills, a solid understanding of business operations as well as organizational information and systems management, the Director is expected to liaise with management to bring a 21st century vision to the organization to advance the agency’s strategic objectives through technology and digital transformation.


  • Responsible for overseeing the connectivity and support of Ometz and JEM Workshop users to the campus voice and data network
  • Undertake needs assessment, evaluation, purchasing review, preparation and deployment of end user hardware and software
  • Manage end user support for Ometz and JEM Workshop staff regarding day-to-day computer, telephone smartphone and applications use and integration
  • Manage end user compliance with Ometz, JEM Workshop and Campus computing and network security policies and ongoing risk management
  • Manage the Ometz IT Help Desk and Ometz Tech Support requests to resolve end user issues and escalate to FCJA IT as required
  • Work as an adjunct member of the Federation CJA Department of Technology Services (FCTA IT) to coordinate and ensure service to Ometz users, including management of Ometz data on the campus network
  • Create and maintain IT operations (Database, hardware/software, process) manual including documented bugs, fixes, additions, and updates for annual review by the COO
  • Prioritize multiple stakeholder requests while balancing long and short term needs and meeting deadlines Lead for the agency cyber security protocols
  • Manage, plan and oversee the integrity of the IT / Database (client, donor, financial, email, reporting & PRINT) requirements including maintenance and upgrading of existing systems, evaluation and recommendation of new systems and software
  • Manage, plan and oversee the integrity of the Ometz and JEM Workshop website
  • Coordinate IT needs to support marketing outreach for Ometz, i.e., Website, e-tools
  • Develop curriculum for technical training programs Coordinate and delegate internal systems training including training staff on new software/hardware to assure program quality and high-performance outcomes.
  • In collaboration with File Management Committee, advise, develop and implement, where needed, best client data capture practices
  • In collaboration with Manager of Grants and Impact Measurement, advise, develop and implement systems to measure impact across the agency
  • Manage and evaluate technical support staff as required
  • Develop and monitor IT budget
  • Represent the interests and objectives of the Agency at all formal and informal public relations in the community at large
  • Monitor work related communications outside of regular work hours 
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in relevant field.(IT, Business, Management)
  • 10 years management / administrative experience
  • Expertise in web, database structure and design elements
  • Certified MCITP: Database Administrator an asset
  • Expertise in system migration and cloud based architecture
  • Experience leading, planning system upgrades and rollouts for both local and remote users
  • Proven Leadership in team building, staff supervision, program development and evaluation
  • Strong technical skills with relational databases and project management skills
  • Expertise in HTML, website design, SEO and Social Media
  • Expertise in database reporting tools such as MS Access or Crystal Reports
  • Experience with Website flow and layout; ease with learning new technologies
  • Proven experience with installation, configuration, troubleshooting repairs of pcs and servers
  • Strong knowledge of MS office Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
  • Bilingual, French & English
  • High level of discretion
