What to expect

As part of the Supported Employment team, the Generating Opportunities (GO) Program Coordinator/Job Coach interviews and selects candidates living with neuro diverse abilities or a mental health diagnosis and matches them with paid work experiences, provides intensive on the job coaching and offers long-term support to clients and employers.


  • Develop and foster collaborative relationships with employers; educate them about employment inclusion & accommodation; acquire appropriate jobs, provide guidance and support to both clients and employers
  • Recruit, interview and select candidates for paid work experiences
  • Provide intensive and personalized accompaniment at work sites in order to assist clients with job integration and retention
  • Create and implement visual tools, memory aids and other tools and strategies to help clients
  • Collaborate closely with and liaise between clients, employers and employment specialists
  • Meet the required objectives and benchmarks of both programs
  • Keep abreast of employment and disability related issues, information and best practices
  • Participate in Ometz staff, team, and department meetings
  • Travel occasionally for meetings within Quebec
  • DEP, Special Care Counselling or Bachelor degree in relevant discipline
  • 1-2 years experience with intellectual disability or Autism Spectrum Disorder clientele a must
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in couple and family counselling
  • Knowledge of social service network and of government programs and services
  • Bilingual in both official languages
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Must have access to a car
  • Ability to make cold calls
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a dynamic and collaborative team
  • Assets: previous experience in a teaching or coaching capacity and with program coordination
