If you’re not LinkedIn, you may be out!

Over 70% of employers report using social media to find candidates, and over 61% reported LinkedIn as being their favorite tool because it is a business LinkedIn logoprofessional network.
Here are 4 more good reasons:
- Companies who are on linked in develop their own network of professionals who they may refer to when searching for employees. By expanding your own network, you increase the chances that you may be thought of as a potential referral. This follows general networking principles, that employers feel more comfortable receiving leads from people they are familiar with. Again, for you this is all part of being able to access the hidden job market.
- Employers may actively search for candidates by searching keywords. Make sure your profile is well developed with your qualifications and experience complete and well-articulated.
- Stay in touch with old colleagues, and maintain those relationships. They may refer you when they hear of a need. Remember, building authentic relationships will make you stand out from others. A vast network of people you don’t know will hold little value.
- Joining groups on LinkedIn can help with your brand, keep you up to date and again…… build relationships.
Ometz LinkedIn workshop will guide you through the process of acquiring your LinkedIn presence, and learning how to use LinkedIn tools. Workshop will be held on November 7, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Free of charge.
