Who is LEAP For?
LEAP is a lifeline for students from Grade 2 to Secondary V who are:
- Navigating the complexities of single-parent families, low socio-economic situations, or recent immigration.
- Coping with mental health struggles or dealing with the impact of violence, abuse, or neglect at home.
- Facing mild to moderate social skills challenges that make it tough to connect with peers and adults.
- Managing emotional difficulties or learning challenges that are affecting their success in school and beyond.
How LEAP Changes Lives
LEAP is more than just an afterschool program—it’s a community where students receive the personalized academic and emotional support they need to overcome obstacles and thrive. With caring mentors, tailored activities, and a nurturing environment, LEAP helps students build confidence, develop social skills, and unlock their full potential.
How You Can Make a Difference
You have the power to change a student’s story. By referring them to LEAP, you’re giving them the opportunity to grow, learn, and succeed. Here’s how:
- Get Consent: Start by having a conversation with the student’s parent or guardian to get their consent for the referral.
- Submit a Referral: Complete the LEAP School Worker Form to connect a student with this transformative program.
- Follow the Journey: Once accepted, the family will be contacted with all the details they need to get started on this exciting path.
Program Details
- Winter-Spring Term: January 6th, 2025 – May 29th, 2025
- Administrative Fee: $50 for the first term and $75 for the second term, with reduced fees for additional siblings.
Flexible Fees
In cases of financial need, fees can be adjusted upon request. Referring workers are encouraged to notify the LEAP team if this applies to them.
Let’s Lift Them Up!
By referring students to LEAP, you’re giving them more than just an afterschool activity—you’re giving them a chance to discover their potential and build a brighter future. Let’s work together to light the way!
