Consultation and Coaching for Clinicians

Ometz Services for Clinicians offers coaching, supervision and consultation to psychotherapists, school counsellors, and psychologists in order to ensure best practice, skill development and fulfillment of Quebec Ordres mandates.

Direct supervision sessions can take place at your office, school or at Ometz. We also offer this service via Skype to international schools and distance practices.

The service includes face-to-face monthly meetings and access to phone and email consultations in between sessions.

This yearly contracted fee-for-service is provided by an experienced recognized clinical supervisor.

Pearl Leibovitch Clinical Day – For clinicians

Once every two years, Ometz organizes the Pearl Leibovitch Clinical Day that explores emerging ideas about how we can create a healthy society and strong community for all children, adults and families.

By attending these workshops, you can:

• Get support and feel more confident in your practice.

Barbara Victor

Barbara Victor is the Chief Clinical Officer at Ometz. She has extensive experience in the educational, counselling and social services fields. As a consultant for both public and private school systems, Jewish and non-Jewish in Montreal, she is responsible for initiating state of the art support services for schools, teachers, students and their families. Barbara’s approach to education and counselling centres around the “whole child” and “strength-based practice”, emphasizing strengths, resiliency and the enhancement of child, familial and community protective factors. She is also responsible for Counselling services to individuals, couples, children and families at Ometz. Barbara received her Master of Social Work with a concentration in Marriage and Family Counselling from McGill University. She has been a lecturer at McGill University in the Faculties of Education and Social Work and an Advisory Member for Health Canada, having worked on several projects which identify strategies for dealing with mental health issues of children and families. Barbara is a guest speaker at conferences, schools, and synagogues on the topics of protective factors for children, support for families and building safe environments in schools. Barbara has led a team of experts in developing a Toolkit for Canadian schools on bullying, as a partner of the Jasmin Roy Foundation. This Toolkit is available for schools and parents across Canada.

Dr. Felicia Kaufman

Dr. Felicia Kaufman received her M.A. (1996) and her Ph.D. (2003) from McGill University, with a major in School and Applied Child Psychology. Dr. Kaufman then worked in the Youth Service Department at the Jewish General Hospital, where she supervised both M.A. and Ph.D. students as well as assessed families for appropriate interventions and treatment. Dr. Kaufman was also the Director of Counselling Services at a private high school and college in Montreal, overseeing a team of therapists and child care workers delivering psychosocial services to a student population with diverse needs. She has been managing the Counselling Department at Ometz over the past few years, supervising the team of therapists and students and coordinating the adult and family therapy programs. Dr. Kaufman has a private practice where she works with adolescents, young adults, and adults and specializes in anxiety, depression, addictions, autism spectrum disorders, divorce, and various forms of life stress.

Carol Liverman

Carol Liverman received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology from McGill University. Since then, she has been working in the field of education, and for the past 20 years has been at Ometz working first as a Group Worker, and currently as a Clinical Supervisor in the School Department. Carol organizes psychosocial classroom groups for students, and workshops, presentations and videoconferences for educators, administrators and parents. Additionally, she manages the Ometz Parlour Group Program for parents, presently providing hundreds of Montreal parents the opportunity to meet monthly with a mental health facilitator   throughout the academic year. Carol has been instrumental in creating the toolkit “Preventing and Reducing School Violence and Bullying.” Carol enjoys educating and presenting on psychosocial and parenting issues.
