Help & Support Ukrainian Refugees in Montreal

Ometz (JIAS) is here to welcome and support Ukrainian refugees arriving in Montreal. Canadian Government Assistance for Ukrainian Refugees

If your family in Ukraine is in need of immediate assistance, please call this number to contact the Canadian government: +1-613-321-4243 (collect calls are accepted). Clients can also add “Ukraine2022” to the IRCC web form with their enquiry and their email will be prioritized.

Ukraine:

For assistance with emergency needs:  The Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) is focused on emergency and basic needs (e.g. food, medicine, shelter, emotional supports, etc.) for Jewish people in Ukraine. Contact JDC through its hotline:  +380947111104  

Israel:

The Jewish Agency for Israel has set up an emergency hotline for the Ukrainian Jewish community.

Canada:

  • On the Montreal level, Ometz is working with our local and national partners, Federation CJA and both the Quebec and the National offices of the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), to assess needs and coordinate resources.
  • CIJA is working in collaboration with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) to help expedite Ukrainian refugees vis-à-vis the Canadian government.
