Parenting group facilitator bios

Carol Liverman received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology from McGill University. She supervises the Ometz Parenting Group Program, providing hundreds of Montreal parents with the opportunity to meet monthly with a mental health facilitator in small groups throughout the academic year. Carol has facilitated groups herself for more than 30 years and loves the experience of helping parents to be the best parents they can be.

Leslie Bernstein is a married mother of three adult children. After graduating from McGill University with a Social Work degree she worked in hospitals, with a focus in Neurology/Neurosurgery and Psychiatry. Twelve years ago, she received a personal fitness training certificate and now specializes in training pre- and post-natal women. Leslie went on to work in schools. She has been facilitating Parent Groups for the last six years. Her greatest joy is spending time with family and friends and participating in marathons.

Sherri Levine Bratin has a Masters in Social Work, with a focus on systems theory surrounding children and adolescents. Over the past 20 years, she has worked with CPE, Elementary and High School-aged children, their educators and parents, providing support, guidance, leadership and training. For the past few years, Sherri has been facilitating Parenting Groups, with an emphasis on enhancing parenting strategies for parents with children anywhere from newborn-19 years old. Sherri is the proud mother of four children, ranging in age from 10 to 17.

Evie Cassell received her M.S.W. from McGill University and worked as a clinician and supervisor for over four decades, supporting children, families, and schools. She has now retired from her position as a clinical supervisor at Ometz, but continues to work as a Parenting Group facilitator, a role which she considers to be one of the most rewarding of her career.

Danusia Lapinski M.A., B.Ed., P.P.C.C. – certified coach, creative arts therapist, teacher, and mother of two – has spent the last two decades empowering students, educators, and parents in meeting their vision of success through education and coaching. Services include individual and group coaching, creative arts therapy, wellness workshops, and organizational training.
